The Swiss Society of Microcirculation and Vascular Research (SSMVR) was founded in its present form in 2011 with the primary goal to establish a lively and interactive network of researchers and clinicians that promotes and facilitates basic experimental and clinically applied research in the field of microcirculation and vascular biology in Switzerland. We support young researchers in the field of basic, clinical and translational vascular research by providing: 1) a platform for networking and scientific exchange during the annual SSMVR meetings; and 2) financial support in the form of prizes for posters and talks and for travel grants to international meetings.

The SSMVR is a member of the Union of Vascular Societies of Switzerland (USGG/USSMV) and contributes to the organization of an annual conference bringing SSMVR and the clinical vascular societies together at different locations in Switzerland. The SSMVR also organizes regular virtual seminars and other meetings to promote networking and collaboration among researchers in the field of microcirculation and vascular biology in Switzerland.
