26th Union Congress of Vascular Societies of Switzerland

BERNEXPO, Bern

SSMVR annual symposium

The 26th Union Conference of the Swiss Societies for Vascular Diseases (USGG) together with the Swiss Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (SGUM) Vascular Section will take place at BERNEXPO from 4 – 6 November 2026.

The main theme of the conference this year is «Tracking Vascular Health».

In particular, I would like to address and invite our young colleagues and researchers to submit an abstract. The deadline for this is July 24th, 2026.

For the Union Dinner on November 5th, we are pleased to welcome you to the Gurten – Park im Grünen. This stunning location in Bern offers the perfect setting to enjoy a pleasant dinner with colleagues while taking in a beautiful view.

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and look forward to seeing you all in Bern!

Next SSMVR Virtual seminar

Virtual Swiss vascular biology talks

Dear SSMVR Community

It is a great pleasure to invite you to a special seminar hosted by Prof Cornelia Halin at ETH Zürich and featuring Prof Mihaela Skobe, from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.

Prof. Skobe is a cancer biologist whose research focuses on how tumor cells interact with the lymphatic system, with a particular focus on lymphangiogenesis, metastasis, and cancer immunotherapy.

Life Sciences Switzerland Cardiovascular Biology (LS2 CVB) Section

Every year LS2 CVB brings together the Swiss cardiac and vascular research communities for a 2-day meeting in Bern (13-14 January 2026). The atmosphere is vibrant and collegial, with the aim of fostering networking and collaboration among the excellent CV groups throughout Switzerland. The program consists of 4 sessions (2 cardiac and 2 vascular), with international invited speakers and many short talks selected from submitted abstracts. The energetic and collaborative atmosphere makes it a perfect opportunity for younger researchers to present their (first) data to an interested audience and maybe gain one of the Best Oral Presentation or Best Poster prizes. A fun night with dinner on the evening of January 13th is a much-loved highlight.
